Asthma and Bronchitis Treatment and Preventive Strategies

Asthma

Asthma is the condition of chronic inflammation of the airways causes wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing.

Signs and Symptom Asthma and Bronchitis: 
Wheezing
difficulty in breathing
chest tightness
coughing

Causes:
Asthma involves physical and psychological factors. It may be triggered by emotions, environmental extremities, viral infections.

Asthma may be triggered by

Cigarette Smoke: 
Cigarette smoke may aggravate allergies.
Cockroaches: Cockroaches are generally allergenic indoor insects.  It’s saliva is allergenic protein.
Dust mites:  
Dust mites are small minuscule relatives of the spider and live on mattresses, bedding, upholstered furniture, carpets and curtains.
Pets & Animals: 
 proteins in saliva is allergic that may stick to fur when animals lick themselves.
Mold:  
Outdoor molds grow in moist shady areas. They are common in soil, decaying vegetation, compost piles, rotting wood and fallen leaves.

Preventive Strategies
•Do not leave out pet food or dirty food bowls.
•Eliminate water sources that attract these pests, such as leaky faucets and drain pipes.
•Limit the spread of food around the house and especially keep food out of bedrooms.
•Use a dehumidifier or air conditioner to maintain relative humidity at about 50% or below.
